GAY MEN CLASH OVER HIV PREVENTION PILL.

In the US:A single daily pill may help prevent HIV. And in America, gay men who have lost countless loved ones to AIDS can't stop fighting about it.

Much of the debate has played out on the Internet and social media as tempers flare over promiscuity, erratic condom use and the potential to either eliminate or worsen the stubborn HIV/ AIDS epidemic, which has killed 36 million people worldwide in the past three decades.

The drug in question is Truvada, an oblong blue pill that combines two antiretroviral medications -- tenofovir and emtricitabine.

"In the medical community, this is more of a controversial, divisive issue than I ever thought it would be," said Ray Martins, chief medical officer at the Whitman-Walker Clinic.
Martins told AFP a month's supply of pills costs between $1,200 and $2,000, which is usually covered by health insurance. Side effects are rare but can include nausea, bloating and diarrhea.

Made by Gilead Sciences in California, Truvada was already available as a medication for HIV-positive patients when it was approved by US regulators in 2012 as a prevention strategy for people who are HIV-negative but engage in sex with HIV-positive partners, or who inject drugs.
On Wednesday, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued its first formal guidelines for doctors, urging them to recommend the prevention pill for patients at substantial risk of getting HIV.
The daily pill should be used in conjunction with condoms as a way to cut back on new HIV infections, which have stayed steady at some 50,000 new annual cases in the United States in recent years, officials said.
"This is a position I fear the CDC will come to regret," said Michael Weinstein, president of the Los Angeles-based AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF).
Weinstein predicted the guidelines "will likely have catastrophic consequences in the fight against AIDS in this country."
 This has led to emergence of a new trend,The truvada whores,that is now trending on the Twitter social site.
The pill however is seen to be a doorway to more infections plaguing mankind,according to experts.sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis are now on the rise.
This is a step ahead in the health sector,maybe we-the human race will live longer,not being a pessimist though but with the perverted and promiscuous human weakness..I think the Pill discovery will add more predicament to the already full list of 'human pandemic'.It may be a road map to hell.

IS TECHNOLOGY DEMEANING HUMANISM?

Well am just asking or may be am wondering is technology doing us much harm than good?Am thinking of this spoilt teenager who is way too obese and obsessed with their phone,video and all other posh electronic gadgets-technological supplements.

We cannot wholly curse the dawning of technology,we know it has made the world a better place.Made humanity dwell and at least not "survive" like in the stone age.Means of transport efficient and cheaper,communication faster and reliable,health wise we have hope to live longer,education wise information is at hand.We can smile about technology..but of course not all the way.

The information say the news we are getting especially on the future of mankind is melancholic.We are getting it from scientists,films and also researchers who tell us of the future possibilities.

I just watched a mediacapital and co-star film production Elysium.
Elysium is a 2013 American dystopian science fiction action thriller film written, directed, and co-produced by Neill Blomkamp, and starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.^[3] It was released on August 9, 2013, in both conventional and IMAX Digital theaters.

In 2154, a minute number of people reside on a luxurious space habitat called Elysium and the vast majority on an overpopulated and devastated Earth. While those on Earth are policed by ruthless robots, Elysium's citizens live in absolute comfort and regularly use medical devices called Med-Bays to cure any disease and injury.

The ruthless robots policing earth dwellers mistreat humans leading to torment and death to those who don't make it to Elysium-the safe heaven. There is a lot of mind control that leaves human with no option but obey or die,this creates a new world order that only those who sail with the "technological commands" live.I think just saying..someone should moderate this!

Following the directory given by a lecturer of Rongo University College Communication Class, Public Relation Practitioners from the school of Information Communication and Media studies are to do a research project from the School of Agriculture on their visions and Agendas of thier adopted project in line with the incoming charter.

The students are to interview atleast a Doctor and a Professor from the school. In addition to this they are to interview not less than a student from the same school.

Moreover, they are to create new blog accounts and comment on each others accounts.
